Mechelle B.J. Moore Receives National Recognition for Anti-Trafficking Leadership in Thailand



On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Impact Exhibition Center, Nonthaburi Province, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security organised the “2025 Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign Day” to honor and pay tribute to individuals and agencies that have dedicated themselves to continuously and effectively driving the work of preventing and suppressing human trafficking in Thailand.


On this occasion, Mechelle B.J. Moore, CEO of Global Alms Incorporated (Asia), received the prestigious award for “Outstanding Person in the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking” for the year 2025. The award was presented by Mr. Thaneadpon Thanaboonyawat, Assistant Minister to the Minister of Social Development and Human Security.

This distinguished national award recognises Moore’s unwavering commitment to fighting human trafficking and protecting vulnerable communities, particularly along the Thailand-Myanmar border. Through her leadership, Global Alms Incorporated has become a pioneering force in the fight against exploitation and abuse in Southeast Asia.

Founded in 2012, Global Alms Incorporated operates a self-sustaining training and recovery center in Mae Sot, Tak Province, offering self-defense education, vocational training, trauma support, and human rights awareness programs to women and at-risk individuals. These services empower survivors to rebuild their lives with dignity and independence. Moore is also the founder of "Yes She Matters", a trauma-informed, survivor-led initiative that provides safe shelter, emergency intervention, and long-term support for women facing gender-based violence in remote communities.



The Outstanding Person in the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Award affirms Moore’s significant impact on national and international efforts to eliminate human trafficking. It is a testament to her passion, leadership, and hands-on engagement in some of the most challenging environments.
