Over the past 2 weeks, Case Advocates from the Global Alms Incorporated Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU) have been on-site at Friendship Bridge 2 in Mae Sot, supporting Tak Immigration and Royal Thai Police officers in the ongoing identification and protection of more than 1,500 potential victims of human trafficking who recently fled KK Park, a large scamming compound in Myanmar.

Coordinating Emergency Support
The groups are made up of 28 nationalities, primarily India, China, Vietnam and Ethiopia, fled the scamming compound known as KK Park and crossed the river into Thailand seeking safety. They have been in the care of Thai authorities undergoing victim screening, and repatriation processes.
Language should never be a barrier to safety or justice. Our team works to make sure every voice is heard and every case is approached with care and responsibility.
The Global Alms Incorporated CTU was called to assist with translation, advocacy, and coordination between survivors, law enforcement, and Immigration officers for the screening of potential victims. The team’s role is vital in ensuring that each person’s story is heard, accurately translated, and assessed with sensitivity and fairness.

A Collaborative, Survivor-Focused Response
Global Alms Incorporated Business Manager, Winnie, Operations Manager, Yuki, and Case Advocates, Sila and Yige, have been working alongside law enforcement and Embassy officials. Their presence has helped bridge communication between potential victims, authorities, and assisting organisations to guarantee that all individuals receive appropriate care, legal protection, and repatriation support. “The priority is to make sure every individual is treated with dignity and compassion,” said a spokesperson from the GAI Counter Trafficking Unit. “Language should never be a barrier to safety or justice. Our team works to make sure every voice is heard and every case is approached with care and responsibility”.

Continuing Commitment to Protection and Advocacy
This coordinated operation highlights the importance of cross-border collaboration, cross-agency coordination and rapid humanitarian response in addressing complex trafficking cases emerging from scam compounds in the region.
Global Alms Incorporated remains deeply committed to providing emergency response, translation services, and advocacy for vulnerable people affected by human trafficking and gender-based violence. The organisation extends its appreciation to the Royal Thai Police officers, Tak Immigration officials, Embassy Officials and all partners working tirelessly to ensure that victims receive protection, justice, and a pathway to recovery.
